2014

  • 2014 is closing its curtain soon. Another year is coming to an end. Soon the dawn of 2015 will arrive upon us. Here are some reflection for 2014.
  • Lesson is learned aplenty this year. For a start I became a father in February. It was a whole new lesson & experience for me. Being a father is hard but it is far from boring. I am loving every second of my life being a father.
  • In addition, I learned to be an adult. I bought a house. I paid bills. I talked to lawyers, bankers and other people. However, no matter how many adult things I did, I still think I am just a kid.
  • The biggest lesson would be to appreciate the small things in life. For instances, time you spend with your family, delicious food on your table, petrol in your car tank, and even a nice quiet walk in the evening. I start to see the world differently and I tend to appreciate things that I neglected as teenager.
  • Though some part of it was full with tragedies, I would like to remember 2014 for the year I became an adult.
  • See you next year. Please enjoy the video.

My campus

  1. This is my campus. It is not posh. But it is nice.
  2. I've been here for two years now. I love it here.
  3. It has this calm and soothing ambiance.
  4. It may not look much right now. However things will look different as time passes by. I am sure.
  5. This is Kuala Pilah. It is full with untapped potential.

Asean football

Champions!!

  1. When it was played under the name of Tiger Cup, not much attention was given by Malaysian. This is mainly because the name of the Championship was derived from a beer-makin company.
  2. Everything changed when Malaysian won the Cup in 2010. Not much hope was given to the team back then. However Dato Rajagobal and co managed to overcome the odds and became the winner.
  3. Since then AFF Suzuki Cup ( the current name of the tournament) is an event that many Malaysian football fan is waiting for.
  4. This year, 2014, Malaysia once again will compete in the tournament.
  5. Just like in 2010,  not much hope is given to the team. Series of poor performance has shaken the believe of many football fans in Malaysia. However, fans all over the country is still praying for the best.
  6. Only the spirit of 2010 can help this group of players to win this year's tournament.
  7. Come on you Tigers!!

Megah.net

  • There was a cyber cafe in my neighbourhood named Megah.net. .
  • Back in the early 2000s, cyber cafe or simply known as CC was a new concept. It is a place where people get engage with the cyber world. Gaming, surfing, chatting and many more.
  • Megah.net was a great place. It was equipped with 24 high tech computers. The cafe was divided into three area. When you walked in through the door you would be at the lounge where you could see the counter, few sittings and a vending machine.
  • When you walk further inside, there were two more areas. The larger area was a dedicated place for gamers. They could turn up the volume as loud as they wanted to and have blast while play their game. The smaller area was design for people who wanted to have a quiet/peaceful time surfing the internet.
  • Of course my area of choice was the large area. I love gaming back then. Most of the time, I would play Counter-Strike. Some other times, I could be seen playing Ragnarok, Diablo or WoW.
  • Once in a while, I would open up a music player called Winamp and listen to my favorite tunes. Of course there was no Youtube back then. So Winamp was our source of music.
  • As the saying goes, everything must come to an end. So did Megah.net's time. After I further my study in UiTM, Megah.net was neglected by the owner. Slowly the place became a wreck. It wasn't a cool place to hang out anymore. It was so bad that it had to be closed.
  • great game for great people
  • A sad ending to a very great place.

When we were young

L-R: Renji, Maulsteen, Abrox

Barren place

  • I started blogging in 2007. Hence, this is my 7th year administering this blog.
  • In 2007, blog was the talk of the town. Everybody owned at least a blog. People would write anything from current issues to what type of underwear they love.
  • Honestly, like many, I started blogging because it was cool. Looking back at my early entries, it is all just me mixing words and my limited world view. It was fun though.
  • Fast forward to 2014, blog is not so popular anymore. Many other website or application has taken over blog's place at the helm of social media.
  • I am still here though. The only reason is that, occasionally I want to write. I want to practice my writing.
  • Here I feel free to write and mumble anything and everything. Compared to the 'crowded' Facebook, I found peace here in my own personal space.
  • It is frustrating to see my friends and bloggers stop to write. One by one they abandon their blogs. All it is now just a reflection of their past life.
  • Even more eerie is that some of the blog has turned into 'soft-porn-penis-enlargement' blog'. I am sure these blogs have been hacked and infected by malware or viruses, pity them.
  • For now I would still write in my blog occasionally.
  • How long would I blog is another question that I do not have the answer yet.

Cheras

Cheras,
A city so big, it stretches from Selangor to Kuala Lumpur

This is where I learned to live,
A place of laughter, tears, rewards and punishment.

My eyes are wide open, to see this beautiful city,
It is the same city physically, but somehow its soul has changed.

Cheras,
It's great to see you
Keep on blooming,
My dear city.

Being a father

  • My father is a generous man. Sometimes beyond his means.
  • As a child, I saw my father as a quiet and responsible man. He didn't talk a lot.
  • Although he was not as talkative as Ibu, he was far from boring.
  • He had his own way of interacting with us, the kids, and making us happy.
  • A thing that always stick in my mind is how he always came up with surprises.
  • One night, he came back home and brought along a Playstation. My brothers and I just could not believe our eyes. That night, we didn't sleep all night thinking of the prospect of playing the video game the next day.
  • When I was in university, my father once again surprised me by taking me to Pertama Complex and bought me a handphone.
  • I chose the latest sony-ericsson handphone. It came with walkman capability. I was a proud moment for me.
  • Now that I have beco
me a father, I truly understand the love of my father towards me and my other siblings.
  • I hope I can emulate him as a father for I want to give the very best for my daughter.
  • Thank you Ayah.

Songs

"Local" musical genius

  • I like listening to songs. I can say it is one of my hobbies.
  • When I was young, my computer was turned on 24/7
  • Nowadays, car is the only place where I can listen to songs attentively.
  • In my teenage days, the furious, beats and "teenage spirits" were the main elements that influenced my choice of songs.
  • As teenage year eclipsed me, I started to look at songs in a different perspective.
  • For instance, M.Nasir - Anak-anak kita. I always thought the song as just a plain and simple reminder for parents.
  • But as I listen to it as an adult, I started to feel it is more than that. I has this rebellious flavor in it even the song is not really presented in a furious or upbeat manner.
  • It talks more than just to take care of our kids. Anak - anak in  the song means the young generation. People who are next in line to govern take care of the country.
  • At the end of the song, M Nasir asks plenty of rhetorical question that make anybody who listen to it carefully falls into a deep thinking mode.
  • All of this makes me appreciate a song more. Rather just an outlet to entertain me, I see songs as something meaningful. However, it is worth noted that  not all songs fall into this category.
  • As one grows older, one will become wiser. Listening to the same song with different perspective is one of the many examples to back up the claim.
  • It is time to dig up my old playlist and re-listen to every song tha t used to stuck in my head.
  • Maybe I can learn a thing or two from it.
Fikir
Selamatkah kita di tangan tukang karut itu
Fikir
Selamatkah kita di tangan dalang wayang itu
Fikir
Selamatkah kita di tangan ahli koporat itu
Fikir
Selamatkah kita di tangan doktor jiwa itu
Fikir
Selamatkah kita di tangan pakar kitab itu
Fikir
Selamatkah kita di tangan tuhan-tuhan itu

A story

Mysterious man
Let me tell you a story.

This is a story about a mysterious man. I first saw this man in 2012. At that time I had just been transferred to Kuala Pilah. As I was driving to work, I saw this man by the roadside.

Physically, he looked like an average person. He wore a shirt with khaki pants. His hair was neatly styled. At a glance he looked like one of those government servants.

As times passed by, I started to stumble upon this man frequently. Sometimes he was walking along the road side all alone. Some other time he just stood motionless.

I started to realize things I did not see before. He has this sad reaction on his face. As if he is looking for something. Now and then, he would bring a plastic bag. One thing for sure, I have never seen him with anybody.

What is his story? What is he doing by the roadside? What has he been through? I would like to talk to him one of these days. But I have not found an opportunity to do so.

Until the time comes, he will stay as the mysterious man by the road side.

Random entry

  • Sometimes it is good to be single minded. Driving through one path way. Never going to make any turn.
  • But where it seems plausible, it is often quite impossible. How could you ignore a soft cry that break the brick of silence?
  • Thus as humans, we must come to term with this limitation. At times our mind takes more than what it can bare. We just have to learn how to live with it.
  • Conclusively, being single minded only exist in our mind. It is as impossible as having a peaceful and harmony global nations around the globe. The not so -inconvenience truth.

oh my!

Pengetahuan umum

  4. Setelah selesai, pergilah anda ke JAWI. Biasanya saya parking di masjid negara. Dapat lah jalan-jalan tengok bangunan sekejap. Tapi lelah juga nak panjat tangga JAWI sebab pejabatnya kat atas sekali nun.
  5. Sampai di pejabat, ambillah borang di kaunter. Cakap je sijil nikah hilang, tahulah pegawai JAWI tu borang mana. Isi dengan cermat, kemudian ambil nombor. Sampai giliran, borak apa yang patut, bayar RM10, dapatlah semula salinan siijil nikah anda. Kalau tarikh kahwin tak jauh, cepat saja pegawai tu cari salinan sijil nikah anda tahu.
Ingat, dokumen penting simpan elok-elok lain kali. Haha!

2014 shopping list

  • I welcome February with open arms.
  • It marks the end of my busy period. It's not that I will be free and easy all February, it's just that I am less busy compared to January. I should not be too worry because as the saying goes "works will never end".
  • I think I should engage my mind with something that help me to ease my stress from work. Therefore I turn to shopping.
  • So, after some serious thought, here are the top 3 things in my personal shopping list.
  • Bicycle. - I have to admit that I regret to have sold my bicycle. It was a good servant to me. Now I miss cycling again. Therefore I need a new bicycle. I may not have the economic strength to but a Specialzed, but a Merida or Scott would be nice.

  • I need a new set of wheel. Being a frequent traveler, tire is essential to me. My current set is one-year-old and it won't be long before it goes past its shelf life.My personal choice of course Continental CC5. Affordable and reliable.

  • Being a technology enthusiast, it's hard for me to resist the temptation of having the newest smartphone in the market. Currently I am eyeing Nokia Lumia. It's a change of wind I shall say. There is nothing wrong with my current phone, but being the geek I am, I have sleepless night thinking about this. Haha.
So, I hope by the end of 2014, all of my wish list will be achieved. Here is for a good year ahead of us. Adios!

Sullen riot

Walk, jump, eat your heart out
Don't stop moving, chase the train
Make it all worth while
End it with a smile

Punch, claw, and then punch again
Start a fight,
It's alright
Make your voice heard

All you have to do is move,
Break the shadow chain,
It's time to throw away the pain
Scream, dream,scream,dream

Mighty Manchester United

The reds
  • Transition is a multifaceted verb. There is a plethora of outcome resulted by transition. It can be bad or vice versa. One can really predict the outcome accurately no matter how prepared they are.
  • ·        Manchester United is a football club that is going on a transition period. From a legendary manager, MU now is in the hand of a manager dubbed as the most consistent manager in the EPL.
    ·         As stated, the outcome of transition is varied. As can be seen, MU form is suffering as a result of the transition. They are now sitting at the 7th place, 11 points behind the league leader, Arsenal.
    ·         As a fan, it hurts to see MU in such state. The players are not performing well, the team is breaking all the wrong records and to see Liverpool is placed above MU are cruel illustrations of how bad MU is right now.
    ·         Something must be done to stop the rot. Bring in the young talents or purchase readymade superstar can help to solve the problem. But I do believe transition needs time. So time is what MU will get especially from the fan.
    ·         We are the mighty Manchester United and we do whatever we want”. These are the words of the supporters that once echo loudly in OT every week. Yes we are the mighty MU. If we want to be on top, we can do that. I believe!
