EURO 2012 dream team according to Izzat

In two days time, Europe most elite football competition will open its door to the world. Held every four years, Euro is the most prestigious cup for every nation in European continent. As of any other football fans, I am not discounted from feeling the excitement of the tournament. Therefore in this entry I would like to present my dream team for EURO 2012.

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer  (Germany)

I've made into the dream team!!

At the age of 26, Neuer has the safest pair of hands in Europe. Germany is blessed to have such a skillful goalkeeper. The fact that he played every single game in Germany qualification campaign, which they never lost a single game, shows that he is a top class goalkeeper. Not only he can save his team, he also sometimes turn provider for the goals. The game against Turkey in the qualifier is a good example to illustrate this.

Defender (LB): Patrice Evra (France)
Jyeah! Im in!

He endured a mix season with Manchester United last season. However, he proves time and time again that he is a great player. Natural lefty, he is blessed with good technique, skills and a great reader of the game. He also provides options in the attacking outlet with his dribble ability. A true leader in and out of the pitch, he is one of the many shining stars in the most consistent team of EURO 2012.

Defender (CB): Giorgio Chiellini  (Italy)
Peace yaw!

After Fabio Cannavaro left Juventus, Chiellini is entrusted to mashall the defense line of Juventus. From that time, he developes himself as one of the most fearsome defender in Europe. At the national stage, he also manages to shine with his tough tackling and no-nonsense approach. He is also known for his aerial prowess  where he dominates header both in defensive or offensive situation.

Defender (CB): Olof Mellberg (Sweden)
Come close and you'll be destroyed.

Another tough tackling defender. Aat the age of 34, he is still playing his best football and hitting top form week in and week out with his team, Olympiacos. A fan favorite at Karaiskaki Stadium, he has vast amount of experiences under his belt. This will prove to be crucial in a big stage such as EURO 2012. Like other top class centre-back, he reads the game effectively and always one step ahead of other players.

Defender (RB): Sergio Ramos (Spain)
Good choice!

He was once an important player for Spain under 21 set up. Winning his first international cap at the tender age of 18, he is an important member for Spanish football team nowadays. Had a good season with Real Madrid, which proves that he is a great footballer. A very energetic player, he always be seen dominating the touch line whether in defense or offense. He is the epitome of modern day defender.

Midfielder (CM): Scott Parker (England)
Let me show you my trick play

Dubbed as two-lung player, he is an energetic player. Tired is a word that never made into his life dictionary. He will run the full 90 minutes, winning balls and dominating possession. A true midfield general. An instrumental player for every team. He is the kind of player that able to provide cover for the back four while helping out the offense with his pinpoint passing.

Midfielder (CM): Mesut Ozil (Germany)

The creative source at the middle of the park. He is well know for his finesse and creativity as an attacking midfielder. He is able to provide assist for his team mates as well as scoring goals by himself. His visionary pass and play enable any team to unlock even the most stubborn defense line. As quoted from ESPN, his magical left foot can open almost any door there is in the field.

Midfielder (CM): Luka Modric (Croatia)
What? Dream team? Im shy!

He is one of the hottest prospect in the English Premier League. Host of teams are hunting for his signature this summer including Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. Know for his calmness while playing, he is a great central midfielder. His favorite position is at the heart of the engine room. At this position, he is able to influence a game according to his rhythm. A true general midfielder.

Attacker(LW): Ibrahim Affelay (Netherlands)
Me gusta!

He is describes as dynamic and powerful player. He also possess great ball skills and ability that enables his to pass through his opponent easily. Eventhough he suffered from cruciate ligament injury that disturb his progress at Barcelona, he manages to recover from the injury and continue his progress to be one of the top European stars. His recent double against Northern Ireland shows that he is back and ready to take on any opponent.

Attacker (RW): Robert Lewandoski (Poland)
Clap! Clap! Clap!

Borussia Dortmund success is down to the pool of players that they have. One of them Lewandoski. He scored 30 goals in 47 games. His vintage performance manages to attract the likes of Sir Alex Ferguson and Bayern Munich. He also manages 12 assists which sealed his named as one of the hottest prospect in Europe.

Attacker (CF): Miroslav Klose (Germany)
It's my turn!

His goal record shows that he is a proven goal score. Not many modern players can play like Klose does. A target man, he is a true center forward. He has a predatory instinct and always hungry for more goals. Played for 3 consecutive World Cup, he is a shy away to equal the goal tally of Brazil's Ronaldo. Even though his name is fading slowly in Europe, he still scoring goals for club and country. A true classy player he is.
