fun packaging

  • Art is any form of outcome from human activities. I would like to talk about the art of packaging in this entry.
  • Art of packaging is one of the important element is ensuring the marketability of a product. Japan can be a good reference for companies who want to instil art into their product packaging.
  • For years, the Japanese has embrace the art of packaging. As a result it can be seen that products from Japan are well packaged and 'kawai' (cute).

  • In contrast, Malaysian packaging lean more towards formality. We can see that local companies prefer to choose the corporate look in their packaging.
  • However recently I found some local products with fun packaging. High 5 bun is a good example to illustrate what i mean.
  • With the addition of some illustration, the packaging looks less formal and touches the fun side of the consumers. for me, it manages to make me smile. The keyboard here is grabbing attention and this is what this fun packaging has achieved.
  • Kudos to the creative force behind this packaging. I hope more companies will follow the footsteps of High 5 and start to make our market more fun and less formal.
  • Btw, im only talking about packaging per say. Im not sure about the product's quality. LOL.

    MELAYU

    MELAYU

    oleh: USMAN AWANG

    Melayu itu orang yang bijaksana
    Nakalnya bersulam jenaka
    Budi bahasanya tidak terkira
    Kurang ajarnya tetap santun
    Jika menipu pun masih bersopan
    Bila mengampu bijak beralas tangan

    Melayu itu berani jika bersalah
    Kecut takut kerana benar
    Janji simpan di perut
    Selalu pecah di mulut
    Biar mati adat
    Jangan mati anak

    Dalam sejarahnya
    Melayu itu pengembara lautan
    Melorongkan jalur sejarah zaman
    Begitu luas daerah sempadan
    Sayangnya kini segala kehilangan

    Melayu itu kaya falsafahnya
    Kias kata bidal pusaka
    Akar budi bersulamkan daya
    Gedung akal laut bicara

    Malangnya Melayu itu kuat bersorak
    Terlalu ghairah pesta temasya
    Sedangkan kampung telah tergadai
    Sawah sejalur tinggal sejengkal
    Tanah sebidang mudah terjual
    Meski telah memiliki telaga
    Tangan masih memegang tali
    Sedang orang mencapai timba
    Berbuahlah pisang tiga kali

    Melayu itu masih bermimpi
    Walaupun sudah mengenal universiti
    Masih berdagang di rumah sendiri

    Berkelahi cara Melayu
    Menikam dengan pantun
    Menyanggah dengan senyum
    Marahnya dengan diam
    Merendah bukan menyembah
    Meninggi bukan melonjak

    Watak Melayu menolak permusuhan
    Setia dan sabar tiada sempadan
Tapi jika marah tak nampak telinga
    Musuh dicari ke lubang cacing
    Tak dapat tanduk telinga dijinjing

    Maruah dan agama dihina jangan
    Hebat amuknya tak kenal lawan
    Berdamai cara Melayu indah sekali
    Silaturrahim hati yang murni
    Maaf diungkap senantiasa bersahut
    Tangan diulur sentiasa bersambut
    Luka pun tidak lagi berparut

Baiknya hati Melayu itu tak terbandingkan
    Selaga yang ada sanggup diberikan
    Sehingga tercipta sebuah kiasan:
    “Dagang lalu nasi ditanakkan
    Suami pulang lapar tak makan
    Kera di hutan disusu-susukan
    Anak di pangkuan mati kebuluran”

Bagaimanakah Melayu abad dua puluh satu
    Masihkan tunduk tersipu-sipu ?
    Jangan takut melanggar pantang
    Jika pantang menghalang kemajuan;
    Jangan segan menentang larangan
    Jika yakin kepada kebenaran;
    Jangan malu mengucapkan keyakinan
    Jika percaya kepada keadilan

    Jadilah bangsa yang bijaksana
    Memegang tali memegang timba
    Memiliki ekonomi mencipta budaya
    Menjadi tuan di negara Merdeka!

A special song for a special occasion. Enjoice!

     Come gather 'round people
    Wherever you roam
    And admit that the waters
    Around you have grown
    And accept it that soon
You'll be drenched to the bone
    If your time to you
    Is worth savin'
    Then you better start swimmin'
Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin'.

    Come writers and critics
    Who prophesize with your pen
    And keep your eyes wide
    The chance won't come again
    And don't speak too soon
For the wheel's still in spin
    And there's no tellin' who
    That it's namin'
    For the loser now
    Will be later to win
For the times they are a-changin'.

    Come senators, congressmen
    Please heed the call
    Don't stand in the doorway
    Don't block up the hall
    For he that gets hurt
Will be he who has stalled
    There's a battle outside
    And it is ragin'
    It'll soon shake your windows
    And rattle your walls
For the times they are a-changin'.

    Come mothers and fathers
    Throughout the land
    And don't criticize
    What you can't understand
    Your sons and your daughters
    Are beyond your command
    Your old road is
    Rapidly agin'
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

    The line it is drawn
    The curse it is cast
    The slow one now
    Will later be fast
    As the present now
    Will later be past
    The order is
    Rapidly fadin'
    And the first one now
    Will later be last
For the times they are a-changin'.

    Babbling

    1. Blogging is a dying art said a friend. Nobody does blogging nowadays.
    2. I couldnt agree more. Many bloggers that I know had abandoned their blogs. The writing trend has shifted to twitter where one can post almost about anything and get a quick reply.
    3. Long gone the golden days of blogging where everyone wanted to be a blogger. These bloggers they wrote about anything under the sun. Business, personal life, artist, music and even their daily routine.
    4. It's ok. Everything has its own time and place, so does blogging. I guess this is the so-called dark ages for blogging. Nobody writes blog anymore. It's a dying art they said.
    5. I dont care if it's a dying art not. I blog because I like it. That's the bottom line.
    6. Thank you.

    That pretty little thing

Recently, my craziness about camera arises again. Day and night I browse through the Internet to address my old-age addiction. Funny it may seem, sometimes i consider myself as a 'photographer'.

Out of the blue, i found this pretty little thing that I captivate my heart. This thing put a smile on my face. Let me introduce you to the 'cardboard' camera by IKEA. Powered by two AA batteries, this low-end camera is a must have for a poser photographer like me.

As soon as this gadget reach our shore, i would drive like crazy to IKEA to get my hand on this camera. My only hope is that I dont have to assemble it like other IKEA products. haha.

    Galaxy noto

    • Recently I had t say goodbye to my long standing baby. Its name is Iphone 4.
    • The first time I met my baby was about a year ago at Lowyat plaza.
    • It was love at first sight. The minute I hold Iphone 4, I knew that we were destined t be together.
    • However, every meeting has its end. It is a hard goodbye but it is inevitable.
    • But the sadness is not long. This is because my baby Iphone is replaced with a new baby named Galaxy note.
    • It is a great gadget and I am sure it can replace my Iphone effortlessly.
    • I am so happy.
    • To make good thing better, the gadget is bought by my Angel.
    • She really know how to make me happy.
    • I love you Galaxy note.
    • I love you more Angel.
