Solat musafir

• Sometimes when I am travelling, I got confused on how to perform my Solat. 
• Therefore, I would like to share this with others who travel a lot.
• May Allah swt grant us strength and opportunity to perform solat whenever we are.
  

United

Railway workmen came together to play football once and dared to dream. 

A dream to make something more of their lives.

That is Manchester United. 

The team lost its first ever competitive game 6-0 to Bolton Reserves. It got relegated in its second season of competitive football. In January 1902, it was asked to shut down because of debts. It didn't. 

Instead it came back up and won the league, a FA Cup and a charity shield 2years later. 

That is Manchester United. 

From 1922 to 1940, United were relegated again and again and again. Faced with bankruptcy in 1931, United were on the verge of disaster again. Instead, the team held on and fought on. Finishing 2nd in 1947,1948 and 1949; 1st in '52, 55 and 56.It won the FA Cup in 1948 and became the first English team to play in Europe. 

It had to wait 41 years for glory. That is Manchester United.

A plane took off on February 6, 1958. To greatness it seemed. And came crashing down. 8 players died. Facing despair and doom, the club fought on. It reached the final of the FA Cup that year. Without a first team, it plodded on and rebuilt. 

7 years later, as the fallen 8 smiled from above, the team won the title in 1965 and 1967. And the European Cup in '68.

That is Manchester United. 

For 25 years it waited to win again, getting relegated, losing Managers and players as rivals laughed. It didn't fall then either. A league title in 1992, a double in '93 and a treble in '99.

That is Manchester United. 

Blood, toil, sweat and tears.That is Manchester United.

How to English

English at its best

• Often people ask how to improve in English. 
• Most of the time, my initial reaction is to smile. 
• This is an age-old question. A tricky one without any definite answer.
• However, I still try my best to answer the question.
• Mind you that my English language skills are not at par as the native speaker. But I know at least I can function well in English. 
• So my answer to this question is just use it.
• Yes. As simple as that. Use it. Use it when you talk with friends. Use it when you are at the mall. Use it even when you are talking to yourself.
• The theory behind my answer is simple, without practice no amount of studying is sufficient. 
• Practicing English in an authentic way is far better than just be in classroom learning it.
• By using the language, one will have first hand experience in learning it.
• Yes some might argue it is the hard way. But I believe anything that we gain the hard way will remain a long time.
• Therefore folks, go ahead and use English and stop asking English teacher how to be good in English.

Sedikit FAQ mengenai MUET

Apakah itu MUET?
MUET ialah akronim Malaysian Universiti English Test. Sebuah peperiksaan anjuran Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia bagi menguji kebolehan calon menggunakan Bahasa Inggeris dalam empat aspek: Listening (mendengar), Speaking (bertutur), Writing (menulis) dan Reading (membaca)

Siapa yang perlu menduduki MUET?
Sesiapa yang ingin melanjutkan pelajaran ke peringkat Ijazah pertama di mana-mana universiti di Malaysia. Pelajar diploma tak perlu pening-pening.

Bila saya perlu menduduki MUET
Mengikut keperluan. Sesetengah universiti seperti UiTM memerlukan pelajar mempunyai MUET sebelum mereka memohon masuk ke program Ijazah pertama. Ada juga yang memerlukan untuk graduasi Ijazah pertama. Jadi lebih baik tanya terus kepada universiti berkenaan.

Berapakah Band yang diperlukan untuk MUET?
Sekali lagi ianya bergantung kepada universiti dan program. Ada yang serendah band 2 hingga setinggi band 5. Tanyalah kepada pihak yang tahu. Jangan tanya kawan-kawan.

Berapa lama tempoh sah laku sijil MUET?
5 tahun. Selagi masih dalam tempoh, keputusan MUET anda sah di gunakan.

Saya tidak berpuas hati dengan keputusan MUET. Apa yang saya boleh lakukan?
Boleh memohon untuk semakan semula atau boleh sahaja menduduki MUET sekali lagi. No problem.

Off canning and punishment

• Recently, a news on canning has caught everyone's attention. In it it says that canning might be treated as an offence in the future. 
• As usual, Malaysian reacted in many ways. Some are angry while others sort to seek for more knowledge and explanation pertaining this issue.
• The following day, the related minister came out with a long explanation on this matter saying that the media has quoted this issue wrongly. After all the heated debate, this issue is still up for discussion. Nothing is carved on stone yet. 
• Personally, I believe that this is a sensitive issue for Malaysian. Yes, we want to protect the children, however we also need to 'protect' this old-but-proven practice in educating the children.
• I personally do not agree with views saying that canning is one of the main means in teaching. However, canning should be seen as one alternatives to education (punishment). After all teaching while using force and brutality will create a crooked children.
• Canning serves as a reminder to the children that no wrong doing should go un punish. 
• Just recently, a friend of mine showed to me a text message conversation between him and a student.
• This student has been missing several classes. When being reminded by my friend he dare to say that he doesn't want to come to class because somehow he feels that he will fail the subject. He even said "kau boleh bagi aku lulus ke?'.

New year

Me and the boys

• New year is finally here. Alhamdulillah. I am still alive and kicking.
• Just like 2013, this year starts with a high note. I brought three boys to the Spell Champ Inter Campus Challenge 2015 in UiTM Pahang.
• One of the boys managed to win thrid place. To add the icing on the cake, my campus, N9 was awarded the best campus. 
• It was an awesome journey. Hope to be in Pahang again next year.
• What a way to start the year. I hope this is a sign for more great things to come.
• Congrats boys!!

2014

• 2014 is closing its curtain soon. Another year is coming to an end. Soon the dawn of 2015 will arrive upon us. Here are some reflection for 2014.
• Lesson is learned aplenty this year. For a start I became a father in February. It was a whole new lesson & experience for me. Being a father is hard but it is far from boring. I am loving every second of my life being a father. 
• In addition, I learned to be an adult. I bought a house. I paid bills. I talked to lawyers, bankers and other people. However, no matter how many adult things I did, I still think I am just a kid. 
• The biggest lesson would be to appreciate the small things in life. For instances, time you spend with your family, delicious food on your table, petrol in your car tank, and even a nice quiet walk in the evening. I start to see the world differently and I tend to appreciate things that I neglected as teenager.
• Though some part of it was full with tragedies, I would like to remember 2014 for the year I became an adult.

Asean football

Champions!!

1. When it was played under the name of Tiger Cup, not much attention was given by Malaysian. This is mainly because the name of the Championship was derived from a beer-makin company. 
2. Everything changed when Malaysian won the Cup in 2010. Not much hope was given to the team back then. However Dato Rajagobal and co managed to overcome the odds and became the winner.
3. Since then AFF Suzuki Cup ( the current name of the tournament) is an event that many Malaysian football fan is waiting for.
4. This year, 2014, Malaysia once again will compete in the tournament.
5. Just like in 2010,  not much hope is given to the team. Series of poor performance has shaken the believe of many football fans in Malaysia. However, fans all over the country is still praying for the best.
6. Only the spirit of 2010 can help this group of players to win this year's tournament.
7. Come on you Tigers!!

Megah.net

• There was a cyber cafe in my neighbourhood named Megah.net. .
• Back in the early 2000s, cyber cafe or simply known as CC was a new concept. It is a place where people get engage with the cyber world. Gaming, surfing, chatting and many more. 
• Megah.net was a great place. It was equipped with 24 high tech computers. The cafe was divided into three area. When you walked in through the door you would be at the lounge where you could see the counter, few sittings and a vending machine. 
• When you walk further inside, there were two more areas. The larger area was a dedicated place for gamers. They could turn up the volume as loud as they wanted to and have blast while play their game. The smaller area was design for people who wanted to have a quiet/peaceful time surfing the internet. 
• Of course my area of choice was the large area. I love gaming back then. Most of the time, I would play Counter-Strike. Some other times, I could be seen playing Ragnarok, Diablo or WoW.
• Once in a while, I would open up a music player called Winamp and listen to my favorite tunes. Of course there was no Youtube back then. So Winamp was our source of music.
• As the saying goes, everything must come to an end. So did Megah.net's time. After I further my study in UiTM, Megah.net was neglected by the owner. Slowly the place became a wreck. It wasn't a cool place to hang out anymore. It was so bad that it had to be closed.

• I started blogging in 2007. Hence, this is my 7th year administering this blog.
• In 2007, blog was the talk of the town. Everybody owned at least a blog. People would write anything from current issues to what type of underwear they love.
• Honestly, like many, I started blogging because it was cool. Looking back at my early entries, it is all just me mixing words and my limited world view. It was fun though.
• Fast forward to 2014, blog is not so popular anymore. Many other website or application has taken over blog's place at the helm of social media. 
• I am still here though. The only reason is that, occasionally I want to write. I want to practice my writing.
• Here I feel free to write and mumble anything and everything. Compared to the 'crowded' Facebook, I found peace here in my own personal space.
• It is frustrating to see my friends and bloggers stop to write. One by one they abandon their blogs. All it is now just a reflection of their past life.
• Even more eerie is that some of the blog has turned into 'soft-porn-penis-enlargement' blog'. I am sure these blogs have been hacked and infected by malware or viruses, pity them.
• For now I would still write in my blog occasionally.
• How long would I blog is another question that I do not have the answer yet.

Being a father

• My father is a generous man. Sometimes beyond his means.
• As a child, I saw my father as a quiet and responsible man. He didn't talk a lot.
• Although he was not as talkative as Ibu, he was far from boring.
• He had his own way of interacting with us, the kids, and making us happy.
• A thing that always stick in my mind is how he always came up with surprises.
• One night, he came back home and brought along a Playstation. My brothers and I just could not believe our eyes. That night, we didn't sleep all night thinking of the prospect of playing the video game the next day.
• When I was in university, my father once again surprised me by taking me to Pertama Complex and bought me a handphone.
• I chose the latest sony-ericsson handphone. It came with walkman capability. I was a proud moment for me.
• Now that I have beco
  
  me a father, I truly understand the love of my father towards me and my other siblings.
• I hope I can emulate him as a father for I want to give the very best for my daughter.
