Reflection

  • Expectation vs reality.
  • When the undesirable thing happen, keep calm. Things will not always going your way.
  • Accept the situation as it is and always look on the bright side.
  • Unless you have psychological super power that can attract everything that you desire, you better learn to deal with disappointment.
  • Beside mistake, disappointment can be a good teacher.  T
  • It's lesson can be remembered for a long time, if not a life time.

Klik dengan bijak

Bijak is the way

  • Common sense is getting rare nowadays. It is like waiting for the eclipse.
  • That is why the government come up with many peculiar campaign, advertisement and rules. To illustrate, the Tak Nak campaign, the "senyum selalu advertisement' and the "pendidikan sivik' subject in school.
  • One might think that all these are meant for the young ones. Unfortunately, the target group of these campaign and ads is Malaysian, from all walks of life.
  • Recently, the government has been trying to 'educate' Malaysian on how to use the internet.
  • Not to say Malaysia do not know how to utilize the internet, but there are people who misuse it up to the point that the authority need to do something about it. Preventive and reactive.
  • Klik dengan bijak is one initiative by the government to 'educate' Malaysian on how to use internet wisely.
  • With plenty of rules, guides and tips, this website helps people to learn the 'common sense' of internet browsing.
  • Plus all the guide and tips come in a very beautiful and unique design. It really has a great face value which is good as it can attract the young ones to read.
  • Nothing is perfect and there are always rooms for improvement. So it won't hurt if we spend sometime to learn about things that we think we already know.
  • Kudos to SKMM for this great effort.

The class of 92

The living legend

  • The class of 92 is a documentary-like-movie that revolves around six great players of Manchester United.
  • The movie's tagline is The players who inspired a generation. This is true to the core. Nobody can deny that each of them had touched millions of heart around the world in their own way.
  • That includes me. As I grew up, I used to watch them playing. Taking on opponents and achieving great heights.
  • Eventhough I am not a football player today, but I am inspired by the spirit to achieve success in my life.
  • Hence, the words of wisdom say, hard work pays.

  • I reiterate this quote from Captain Winters in The Band of brothers. "Someday, when I retire, I would buy a piece of land and spend the rest of my life there."
  • For some it might sound corny but I actually persuaded by his words. The idea gives me strange sensation and the feeling of peace deep inside. I want to turn the words to reality.
  • Growing up in a big city, I used to think that tall building and shopping malls were everything.
  • But as i grow up, do does my world view. Today, I don't see city life as a beautiful as it was. I prefer to be somewhere where I can spend my time in a quiet and peaceful environment. Miles away form the hustle bustle of city life.
  • I guess my introvert personality plays some role in this decision. I like people, but I don't like crowded place.
  • Scandinavia countries are my aim. The scenery in Northern Europe reality c
    Ah...!
aptivate me. The tall mountains, the green fields, and the mild weather blend together to create a perfect place.
  • However, it is just a dream. From what I heard, it is hard to be a PR in the Scandinavian, even more to own a piece of land.
  • As the Malay words goes, Hujan emas di negara orang, hujan batu di negara sendiri. Lebih baik di negara sendiri.  Eventhough it is raining gold here, I believe Malaysia has myriad of beautiful places that await to be explore.
  • Batu pun batu lah.
How can you not fall in love with this?

pass it, quickly

A ball game
Limitless player, unwritten rules
High stake game,
Some even wonder, is it worth playing?

Pass it to you left,
Pass it to your right,
As quickly as possible,
Any direction is a possibility

Sometime you win, the other you lose,
Uncertainty is certain
What ever you do hear my words
Pass i, quickly.

The transfer window

  • The European transfer window has finally shut just as recent as this morning. Yes, I am talking about football.
  • As usual, the last day of the window offers drama, twist, gossip and out-of-this-world report.
  • Finally, after the dust has settled, fans all over the world can rejoice and focus on the current on-going campaign.
  • Madrid get their new Galactico in Bale, Wenger is God again with the signing of Ozil, Mid table EPL teams got their squad players and finally a midfield enforcer came to Man Utd, Fellaini. Of all the deadline business, I have to say I am quite impress with Arsenal's.
  • After qualifying for UCL by the skin of their teeth, Arsenal, as reckon by many, is not the big force in European football. Plus with the lack of transfer activity, some sections of Emirates Stadium even called for Wenger's head.
  • But after the signing of Mesut Ozil, the midfield maestro from Madrid, suddenly Arsenal is a force to be reckon with.
  • Imagine the combination of Ozil, Cazorla, Arteta, and Wilshere in action. They can compete with any team in Europe. Fuh!
  • All in all, I am still a Reds. Even with only single signing, I believe Manchester United can compete in all front this season.
  • Welcome to Old Trafford Mr. Fellaini.
This is the handsome version of Fellaini

Perdana College Heights, Pajam

Radio

  • I am a frequent traveller. Everyday I drive for about two hours to and from work. At first it was a long and tiring journey. But presently I think this long journey has its own perks.
  • One of it is I get to listen to radio. I never paid much attention to radio shows before. However, now I listen to it everyday. As if it is my daily dosage of caffeine.
  • I learn a lot from it. But of course not from the popular and mainstream radio. I found these kind of stations are cliche and predictable.
  • I always try to find stations that offer something different.
  • Primarily my taste in music has expanded. Instead of listening to rock n roll, I am starting to keep an ear on jazz, blues rnb and even classic tunes.
  • Thus radio also helps me to explore the great world of the past. It enables me to see Malaysia particularly,  and the world, generally through an unconventional point of view.
  • Hitherto,  radio is a great companion that educate and entertain me. It is a wonder that something very simple can perform sophisticated tasks.
Radio, radio, radio. When I got music,I got place to go. -Tim Armstrong.

Picture update

  • A picture update for my blog. It tells what is happening in July.
  • Why? Because a picture says a thousand words.....or maybe less than thousand. Up to your interpretation.

Alam

Cuba keluar di malam hari
Nikmati angin yang menyapa
Indahnya dunia walaupun tanpa cahaya
rasakannya bukan dengan mata

Jangan pernah berhenti mengembara
Alam ini luas untuk semua
Bukit bukau gunung ganang
Masih banyak yang belum diteroka

Hijau daun biru langit
Warna warna yang menyapa setiap hari
Tanpa resah tanpa gelisah
Nikmatinya dengan jiwa terbuka

Perjalanan semua berbeza beza
Panjang pendek bukan hak kita bertanya
Terus melangkah dengan kaki
Gunakan mata dan hati untuk memerhati

Haze

  • Haze is the pollution of dust particle in the air. For the record, it is my own definition of haze.
  • It brings a lot of trouble. Among other, haze-related-illness, low vision sight and disturbance of daily chores/activities/business.
  • I also have been affected by this widespread haze. I found that at times, I have difficulty in breathing. Plus my throat fells itchy.
  • So far, nothing major is done to curb this annual problem. All I can see is the price hike of face mask. We can blame the opportunist.
  • Maybe this annual 'festival' is not a major concern in the authority to-do-list.It happens almost every year. It is somewhat has become a must in Malaysian calendar.
  • People has started to play the blame-game. Politicians, blogger, accountant, clerk even makcik kantin has their own version of 'whose to blame for the haze anyway?'.
  • As long as there is no casualty, we will be ok. It is in line with our unofficial tagline - Malaysia Boleh!
  • Bolehlah...

Season of change

  • Football season is over. As a football fan, I feel a void deep inside my heart with the absence of weekly football dosage.
  • The recently concluded season signals the beginning of 'hunting days' for clubs around Europe. It is an exciting time.
  • Besides the transfer window, another worthy news to mention is that few big names in the world of football announced their retirement. Among other the great gaffer Sir Alex Ferguson, David Beckham and midfield general- Paul Scholes.
  • It is pure co-incident that many of those who are retiring associated with Manchester United. All three of them left big impacts in the world of football in their own unique way.
  • SAF has been the boss of Man Utd for as far as I can remember. He brilliantly guided the red devils to the path of glory for o many years. It would not be the same without him next season.
  • David Beckham took the world of football by storm when he made the rank at Man Utd. His trademark free kicks and handsome look make him more popular even to people who do not watch football. I once tried to kick a ball like him, but I fail miserably.
  • Paul Scholes is the ginger prince. A true midfield general, I have always tried to play the way he did. His pin point passing really made wet my appetite whenever I watch him play. I share one little trait with him, we don't talk a lot. Haha.
  • All in all, it is a season of change in the world of football. Not all changes are bad. As a fan, I hope for a better season.
  • Glory glory Man Utd!!

My favorite 9gag post for today

Sometimes I feel this. But my life is anything but ordinary.

Status update II

  1. Being a lecturer has its own perk. For instance, during semester breaks, I can laze in my room and do nothing. Sounds like Bruno Mars isn't it?
  2. On the 5th of May, like any other ordinary Malaysian, I went out to cast my vote for PRU13. It was my first time. After 2 and half hour of queing, I finally had my chance to have a say, a serious one, for my country. Yes it is just one vote, but my vote counts. I am a proud Malaysia. Saya sudah dewasa.
  3. Nothing surprising about the result for PRU13. BN won with simple majority but with slight decrements in the number of parliamentary seats. As usual, PR is not satisfied and they are making a big fuss about it.
  4. How ever, one thing that I dont like after the elction is the issues that are aired by the media. It disgustingly focuses on racial issues. Headline such as "Apa Cina mahu lagi?", "Jangan tolong Cina" etc can create serious discomfort among peace loving Malaysians. Do not dwell on this devilish matter or it will unleash another 13 May. The last thing I want is to see fellow Malaysian hurting each other.
  5. Put politic aside, May is a good month for me, personally, professionally and spiritually.
  6. Lastly football season almost come to an end. Man utd managed to wrestle back the title from the noisy neighbour. On local scene, Selangor is still my favorite team and JDT is the least favorite.
  7. Till then, bye-bye bloggers.

"Oh yes, the past can hurt. But you can either run from it, or learn from it."

Status update

I am writing this entry just to remind myself in the future what it was like at this moment of time. As of 24 April 2013, a lot of things are happening around me and the world. Here is the list.

  1. Currently a Korean song called Gwiyomi is monopolizing the internet. It has become a sensation with over thousands of videos uploaded by fans and haters. I secretly love the video but those with cute girls only. LOL.
  2. GE13 is just around the corner. As of today, all the parties, candidates and supporters are busy with their campaigns. Honestly, I can't see clearly an side to be the runaway winner. Both are just playing with lame and boring issues. Bluergh!
  3. I am having a bad fever last night. But I am on the road to recovery. Alhamdulillah. I hate fever. Go away virus.
  4. Not many people are around at the office today. The diploma semester has ended and the degree students are having their mid term break. Thus I feel regret on my decision not applying for leave.
  5. I found a new sports to spend my free time. It is golf. As lame as it can be, golf is surprisingly interesting and addictive. After all it is a suitable sports for a fat lad like me. Beware Tiger Woods!
  6. Lastly it is a half-day work for me today. I am going to Sunway to treat my lady for today is her birthday. Ciao!

Pantulan kaca

Kabur, berbalam, tidak jelas
Sepertinya melihat ke arah kaca
Apa yang terzahir, apa disebaliknya
Sukar untuk ditentukan mereka

Maka lahirlah pelbagai pandangan
Penjelasan, alasan serta cerita
Yang sama diraikan
Yang beza diperlakukan sebaliknya

Kaca tetaplah kaca
Pantulannya tidak sejelas cermin
Terus berbalah mereka yang lemah
Makin gundah, makin lemah

The inconvenient truth

  1. First of all I might be sued by Al gore for having the same title as his work. But this is the incontinent truth Malaysian version. Perhaps, to be more specific, Malay version.
  2. Recently, I have a strong urge to own a house. It is normal for people at my age to have this urge I guess. So I went here, there and everywhere looking for information about houses, housing loan, etc.
  3. But reality had slapped me in the face so hard that I couldn't move for quite some time. I lied down, glued to the floor, of course figuratively, for days.
  4. This is the inconvenient truth. It is damn hard to own a house for an average,salary-receiver, Malay fellow like me. and like the most of my hard-working Malay comrades.
  5. The price of property in Malaysia is so high that one have to be in-debt for 30++ years. Can you imagine to be 70 years old and struggling to go to bank every month to pay your housing loan? This image is absurd!
  6. It is a multifaceted problem. One one hand, there is this mindless speculators who control the property value. Just Imagine in a gap of a week, a property value can increase about RM100, 000. There is no rationale in that. They just increase it because they say the value of property increases with time. I say, this is bullshit. Property value even in a godforsaken lands like Dagang, Pajam and Labu is set at a ridiculous price. RM400, 000 for an intermediate terrace house in the middle of nowhere is not rationale at all.
  7. On the other hand is the ability of the Malay people to own property. It is wel-known that majority of the Malays fall under the category of average-income citizen. Like is said before, it is getting impossible for this kind of group to own a property especially in the Klang Valley area. Malays are well beaten by the "you-know-who" race in term of property owning.
  8. To illustrate my point, to own a terrace house with the value of RM308,000, one have to pay approximately RM1600 per month for the housing loan. How can this be achieved when many of the Malays have a monthly income of RM3000 and below?
  9. If one think very carefully, Malays are being shun away from Klang Valley area gradually. Many of the Malays are force to flee to suburban area or the outskirt of Kuala Lumpur. I have nothing against other race, but I feel sorry for my race and my self.
  10. Therefore fellow Malays, especially young ones, stop dreaming. Save money, work hard so you will have a bright future especially when it comes to owning a property.
This is Dr House, he is priceless
P/s  Do you know that the price of iphone 5 is equivalent to the booking fee of a house. Think before you buy next time. Which one is more important, iphone of a house?

Helium, air and wings

Please help in the phytoremediation
Because you have the remedy
Help to heal the broken wings
so they can fly again

It is hard to stay afloat
With un mended wings
It is hard to stay afloat
When helium is not helium anymore

Thank you for listening
For the wings have healed completely
Now they are in the air again
I am sure they will thank you as well

Ayah dan ibu

  • People always say when you become older, you will become wiser. That is what happening to me right now. Nowadays I tend to see the world differently. What might look ordinary to some people, might be seen as something meaningful to me.
  • One thing that really obvious lately is that I started to really appreciate Ayah and Ibu. Dont get me wrong, all this while I love them very much. Its just that as I grow older I started to realize how much my parents had sacrifice and spend for me and my siblings.
  • When I was a naive little kid I always took my parents for granted. I did what I want to do and always force my way to get something that I wanted. Same goes when I was a young and healthy teenager. For all I know that whenever I'm in trouble, my parents will always be there to bail me out. Usually my parents help me in term of financial.
  • But it all changed in 2008. Suddenly I realize that it is not easy to earn money. It takes lots of hard work, sweat and tears. There and then I realize that all this while I have burden my parents financially. Still they raise me up with lots of love without uttering a single word of complaint.
  • At that time I also started to recall back my past memories. I started to understand the things that Ayah and Ibu did. Only now I know the reason why ayah and ibu didn't order something for themselves whenever we ate at a restaurant. Ibu always said "Takpe. Korang makan la. Ayah, Ibu kenyang lagi". I also remember when I was a little boy Ibu will always cook something and bring it to the office. They did all these just to save up money for the family.
  • Oh my, thinking about this really makes me all emotional. Ayah, Ibu thanks a lot for everything. I know whatever I do, I still cant repay all your deeds for me and the family.
  • I promise to be a good son for you. I will.
  • I love you.

Job

There is an aggressive woman at my work place
She shall not be named in this entry
Nevertheless, she is aggressive

I am not talking about physical action
Instead I am referring to verbal behavior
She cannot even lift a box full of papers but she can kill you with words

Everybody talks about her as if she is some kind of celebrity
Here and there her name rings like a door-bell
I guess this is the result of her aggressiveness

Nowadays I always make sure I lock my office door
For I don't want to hear her name or meet her
That way my day is brighter and full with laughter

An adventure

Nat Geo magazine

  • This year is the 125th anniversary of National Geographic society.
  • As a child, I remembered watching a television series that showed the life in animal kingdom. I was fascinated with the series. It even had a catchy theme song. It turned out to be the National Geographic series.
  •  National geographic teaches me a lot. Among other thing is to explore the world. I have to admit im not an adventurer in real life. Instead I like to 'travel' around the world in my head. I use my imagination to feel like those great travelers i watched on television.
  • In my head, I wish to challenge the rough ocean, make friends with the tallest mountain, having a private moment surrounded by giant sequoia trees and even unearthing a treasure in the deepest cave.
  • I learned that since the beginning of time, human started to explore the world. curiosity is always there among human. This curiosity helps us, the human race to progress up to the level that we are in right now.
  • Maybe this year, as part of my new year resolution, I would like to be an explorer. a traveler who roam the earth to find new things or learn new knowledge.
  • My adventure might not be as interesting as Indiana Jones or as great as Alexander the great. I aim to start small within my means.
  • Afterall as the editor of National Geographic magazine said, a quest for an adventure can start by exploring your own backyard.
